The Benefits of Ride On Mowers

!±8± The Benefits of Ride On Mowers

It can take hours sometimes battling with a normal sized mower to get your job done, especially if it's a hot day and you don't have the energy left to keep pushing it. That's where ride on mowers come in and give you that helping hand that you need. They have been designed to at some convenience into your life and help you get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

With so many mowers available these days, not just for residential purposes, but also for commercial use, the benefits offered can be endless. What may have once taken you hours to complete, depending on the size of your lawn, could now take you no time at all. The initial investment needed for one of these pieces of machinery can seem a little daunting at first but over the lawn run they are actually a very cost effective way of maintaining your lawn. They would save you a lot of money in maintenance costs if you went the route of getting a professional gardener in to do your lawn.

Many attachments can also be fitted and used for ride on mowers, unlike hand mowers which would just take up too much energy. Some attachments include rollers, these are very helpful after laying grass seed as they can compact the seed in to the ground, which in turn brings about faster growth.

A very good attachment for the spring is a spreader, this can help spread fertilizer while you are on the move and other various things that you may need to deploy. Leaf sweepers are also very handy during the autumn/winter period as these attachments can save a great deal of time and effort.

Ride on mowers have similar cutting styles to standard lawn mowers, but due to the size in comparison to a lawn mower, the blades are much bigger and stronger. Many mowers use a horizontal rotating system of cutting, typically found to be using more than one blade though. This ensures an even cut, giving you the results that you require.

Many football, baseball and cricket fields use mowers like this to achieve the best results. As you've probably seen on a field near you, the results are usually always perfect. So to gain the best outcome for your lawn, there's a huge selection of ride on mowers out there which could be a step in the right direction.

Wheel Horse Tractors Come of Age

!±8± Wheel Horse Tractors Come of Age

Wheel Horse tractors have developed a solid reputation for dependability, performance, and affordability. Not many small businesses have been as successful as Wheel Horse, and even fewer machines as productive as this long-established line of hardworking garden tractors. It started in the 1920s, when a few good men decided to pool their talents and make a go at the garden tractor industry. The 1920s encouraged the daring and innovative to experiment, and so it all began with a small group of talented handymen. Working hard with spare motorcycle and automobile parts, the group sensibly united to develop a garden tractor that would take America by storm. In just a few short years, Wheel Horse founder Elmer Pond and his cohorts started a company that assembly-line built these powerful tractors. They did a whopping .5 million in sales by the late 1980s. This, as expected, commanded the attention of large corporations throughout the industry especially Toro, one of the leaders in the industry, who later purchased the company.

With their prudently engineered engine mount located between the legs of the driver, and a variable-speed, belt-driven transmission design, Wheel Horse tractors begun their true coming of age. Consumers also benefited from the various tractor attachments and quality-crafted engines when their plant rolled out its GT-14, which housed a 14-horsepower, large-frame design that was all the 1960s rage in garden equipment. Rear tires the size of 27 X 9.50-15, its vertical shaft engine, and the vertical input trans-axle brought it up to the next level performance wise. Thanks to this, as well as its easy handling and advanced engineering, the upstart company begun to carve out a sizeable piece of the industry for themselves.

Wheel Horse tractors are as competitive in price as they are in quality. Purchasing one is more like an investment than an expenditure because the longer you own one the more you realize its value. When Founder Elmer Pond manufactured his first tractor back in the mid '40s he could never have imagined that his creations would one day become collectors items. Today, there are several online communities and collectors groups that meet regularly to share their passion for collecting these red vintage garden tractors.

With all of its highly developed engineering, the Wheel Horse tractor has positioned itself as a front runner in the garden tractor industry. The flexibility and abundant variety of attachments make it possible to equip them for almost every consumer requirement, such as lawn renovation, driveway grading, snow throwing, and a variety of hauling needs. An old saying around the plant was that they were "speedy, sporty and spirited," and that saying still rings true today.

UT20760 Piston Replaced

The problem now is that I have been sent the wrong fuel lines, and there is a small crack in the fuel tank. M&D had cut the tubing to order. It was far too short! I could not put the filter on. Please don't suggest that I send the lines back to them. They were simply just cut too short, and that fine! Down time will be at least one more week while I wait for the new tank, & measure for the new lines. I will go to Ace Hardware for the rubber tubing to make the lines, & will be ordering the tank from Ebay. The next, and hopefully final part of the repair series can be expected either 10/31, or 11/2.

Types & Brands of Weed Whacker

!±8± Types & Brands of Weed Whacker

Weeds are an integral part of the garden, lawn and fields. There is a Spanish proverb which aptly describes the presence of this vegetation. It is said that "More grows in the Garden than the gardener sows. " This statement is in fact absolutely true. There can be no garden or lawn which doesn't have the unwelcome presence of these hardy plants.

It is well said that "Give a weed an inch and it will take a yard. " The weeds grow faster than the plants which they infest. Even William Shakespeare had to say that "Sweet flowers are slow and weeds make haste. " This disrupts the trim and proper look of the garden or the lawn which if not given proper care turns into an eyesore.

But weeding is also a specialized job. It needs a lot of attention and care. Because if you pull out a weed too hard, it may happen that the weed might break in your hands and the roots remain just where they are, beneath the earth. This might result in another eruption of the vegetation a few days later.

Different weeds need different kinds of techniques and tools to be removed. Earlier the weeding process was done by hand. But it was a back-breaking and a tedious exercise which consumed a lot of time and energy. But in due course, technological advancements took place and in 1971, George Ballas invented the weed eater. This machine was run on gas or electricity and increased the convenience of the gardener.

Weed eater is also known as the weed whacker or string trimmer due to the function it performs and the component it is made up of. There are mainly three types of weed whackers which are in popular demand among the gardening community. These three categories of weed whackers:

Electric Powered Weed Whacker: Some of the weed whackers work on the electric supply. They do not require gas or oil to operate. Such electric weed eaters are lighter in weight and also come in smaller sizes. They are also easy to maneuver. They are perfect for small lawns or yards as they have a restriction of the power cord. To do a bigger size of the lawn, one needs to have an extension cord to operate the machine.

Gas Powered Weed Whacker: Gas powered weed eaters have been traditionally used for pulling out the invasive plant growth. These kinds of string trimmers use oil or gas or at times both to operate. They are the power horses in the trimmer community. The gas weed eaters have more power and can hold more string than their electric counterparts. The gas weed eaters also have a wider scope of operation as they are not restricted by a cord and can reach into the far reaches of the yard. The only downside to this equipment is that is very heavy and not as easily maneuvered as can be done with the electric ones.

Battery Operated String Trimmer: Battery operated weed whackers are being extensively used in the present times. They are still charged by the electric energy, yet it helps in the control of air and noise pollution to some extent. This kind of an instrument doesn't need a power cord or for that matter gas and oil. The battery powered trimmers are also light weight and give the user more flexibility in smaller areas.

There are many prominent brands which have introduced their weed whackers in the market. After George Ballas introduced this machine there have been many changes and innovations in the manufacture of these weed eaters. Major players like Black & Decker, Feather lite, Ryobi, Echo and Toro have a wide range of weed whackers. Some of these are electric powered and many of them are cordless, running on battery.

Black & Decker have introduced a cordless weed whacker which is called The Grasshog 12-Inch 18-Volt Cordless String Trimmer/Edger. It is light in weight and is very easy to handle. This machine runs on battery and is cordless which makes it more convenient to carry. The Grasshog can trim an area of about half acre on single charge using the 18-Volt batteries.

The Feather Lite Weed eater is a product of Poulan which has been manufacturing quality tools since 1944. There are two major models in this category - Weed Eater Feather Lite Plus Curved-Shaft Trimmer - 20cc and Weed Eater 14-Inch 4. 1-Amp Electric Trimmer Edger respectively. These are light weight trimmers which use 4-cycle and 2-cycle engines for better results and a perfectly trimmed lawn.

Ryobi is also one of the leading brands in the field of manufacturing power tools, outdoor products and accessories. There is a perfect blend of innovation and versatility in the products. There are two models from this company which come as gas and electricity powered weed eaters. The Ryobi Lithium 18 volt-12 inch (model p2002) Weed Eater is cordless and weighs up to 7. 5 pounds. It also features adjustable upper shaft to fit user height, a fold out edge guide, and it stays charged 4 times longer to give better results.

The Ryobi gas powered trimmer is heavier and also makes a lot more noise as compared to the electric one. And then one also has to refill the tank from time to time.

Then there is also another brand which takes lead in making high quality weed eaters and that is Echo, which is in the field for the last 30 years. It manufactures fine commercial grade weed eater/trimmer. Some of the more popular models from Echo might include Echo Weed Eater GT-200R, GT-200i, GT-251and SRM-210. Most of these trimmers are light weight with a curved shaft which makes it easier to handle for the user.

Then there is also the Toro manufacturing company which has been making quality equipments since 1914. There are two well known models of weed eaters from this company. Toro 3. 5 Amp 11" Electric String Weed Eater/Trimmer is a dependable machine to trim and edge thick grass and weeds. It runs on a 3. 5 amp motor and is easy to operate.

The second model is the Toro 4. 4 Amp 15" Electric Weed Eater/Trimmer which features a dual trigger handle that makes it easy and convenient for users to switch between trimming and edging.

Thus, the type of the weed eater depends on the need of the user and the area which has to be cleaned of the weeds. One can easily choose from among the three types of machines which suit them best. Any brand of weed whacker will give you the best results if they are handled with care and maintained properly.

Choosing the Right String Trimmer

!±8± Choosing the Right String Trimmer

Lawn trimmers are useful tools for everything from lawn edges to remove the weeds and grass that grows in rocky areas where lawn mowers are used should not go. But the key is in choosing the right trimmer for the job.

Grass trimmer to do as the name suggests. These machines, 'string' to stop the plastic vortex cutting or cutting non-use. Although there are a variety of strings of plastic thickness and texture, are confined most of the models that fit the particular machine. If a particularTrimmer offers a selection string selection types, thick.

Well, as algae-eaters, there are two sources of supply base for these tools, lawn: gas and electric stoves. Each type has advantages and disadvantages.

Electric
The trimmer very portable and relatively inexpensive electrical field is probably one of the most popular among the average home.
Less expensive than their gasoline counterparts, can be purchased as either a cable or cordless electric lawn mower models.

TheCorded models are usually less expensive. Models with less than 3 amps are suitable for many small town and easy to use. Models with more than 3 amps are strong enough for a large building sites, but are not strong enough to cut brush. The fact that this also means with cable, which is accessible and took an extension cord, probably.

Portable and lightweight, battery-powered models will do a good job with the grass and the basic work of grass cutting. The 12-voltBattery life is relatively short, but replacement batteries are cheap and convenient.

Gas Engine
In this model 2-stroke and 4 stroke. 2-stroke gasoline engine trimmers have the power to make very short work with a large yard. Models that separate the functions and suffocating gases are preferred because they are easier to get started. The 2-stroke trimmers are a good choice for those who want power, while staying within a budget. Approximately 2-stroke engine trimmer also acceptMetal blades and other equipment so that they are very versatile for the price. The disadvantage is that two-stroke engines require a mixture of diesel fuel. This is an easy to use, rather than a matter of quality.

Algae eaters to 4 times have real powers, and they see it. They are generally the biggest and greatest "REACH". Are regularly using gas to start easier, run better than a 2-stroke engine model and are quieter. The 4-stroke trimmers are versatile machines that accept a varietyof metal blade and other attachments. The drawback for the thrifty consumer is price. 4-cycle engine string trimmers are typically more expensive than the others, but will do more as a result.
